Cyprus is the third largest island in the Meditteranean Sea. It is an independent state since 1960. The island is divided by a demarkation line (Green Line) a result of an invasion by Turkey in 1974.

The Greek Cypriot Politicians
I was watching the RIK news via internet today and I was yet again struck by how our politicians compare unfavorably to politicians/leaders of developed countries. I don't know if it is the language they use (i.e. the Cypriot Dialect) the way they look or the kind of discussions shown on TV. In any case I felt a little ashamed to be a Cypriot (and I am little ashamed to write this on my Blog to be honest). I compare them to Statesmen like Clinton, Blair, Brown, Papandreou, Conti, etc. and I wonder : is this the best we can "produce" as a country??
